Avalon Ann Braud Smith, 83, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 1:45 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. A native of Prairieville, LA and a resident of Walker, LA. She is survived by her daughter, Paulette S. Marino and husband Lawrence; two sons, Robert A. Smith and wife Valinda, and Clifford A. Smith and wife Ellen; sister, Bobbie Gautreaux and husband Lionel; four grandchildren, Lauren, Cara, Amanda and Tyler; 2 step-grandchildren, Amanda and Wade; six great-grandchildren, Bradley, Catherine, Damon, Coy, Aubrey and Kamryn; and a furry little four legged friend named Sprockette. Preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Estelle Braud; husband, Paul L. Smith; sister, Audrey Braud; and brothers, Edwin "Hotsie" Braud and Ralph Braud. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m and will resume at the funer.al home on Monday, August 12, 2013 from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Mike Moroney and Deacon Robert Kusch. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will include, Tyler Smith, Jake Wheat, Elijah Kiger, Wade Barker, Marlon Braud and Craig Braud. Miss Ann was one of the sweetest souls. Jake had so many fun times with her and Mr. Paul. She will be fondly remembered by many. Thoughts and prayers for her family during this time.
