On November 26, 2014, Ann Gregory passed away peacefully from cancer related complications. In her final moments, she was surrounded by people who adored her: her husband Chris, her brother John, mother-in-law Dixie, and other family and friends. She was born on October 26, 1974. Ann's story isn't the story of a battle with cancer. Ann's story is a love story. The love she shared with her husband Chris was an inspiration to those of us who knew her and enjoyed the company of this charming couple. Ann died holding her husband's hand, with the comfort of knowing how deeply she was loved. She knew that to one man, she was everything in the world. Ann loved people, and people loved Ann. We were all charmed by her laugh, her tenderness, her thoughtfulness, her radiance. A conversation with Ann could turn a bad day into a good one. Ann loved her home and the life she made. She loved her cats as if they were her children. She had three of them: Piper, Akiko and Etsuko. They will miss her as much as we will. Ann drove a mini-cooper, she used a Mac, and she loved to bake … she baked often, and she got to see grown men argue over her chocolate cookies more than once. She was an Estimator at Performance contractors and earned her degree in Construction Management. Ann truly loved her job and the people she worked with, and the second floor of Performance Contractors was a brighter place for having her there. As sweet as she was, she just as tough – nobody got the best of Ann. Not even the illness that eventually took her life. Ann was a winner, and a fighter who beat the odds again and again during this long illness and the only battle she lost with cancer was the last one. She won all the others. Her life, her love, and her courage were an inspiration to us all. At the end she was smiling. Ann is survived by her husband Christopher Gregory; brother, John Betts; sister-in-law, Amanda Betts; nephew, Kai Betts.
