Ed passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the age of 95. He was retired from Exxon after 40 years of service, a resident of Brusly and a native of Napoleonville, La. A US Army Veteran who served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, Brusly, conducted by Father Matt Lorrain. Entombment will follow in the Church Mausoleum. He is survived by his wife of 75 years Hilda LeBlanc Guedry; daughters, Pam Guedry Rhodes and friend King Hardeman and Cacky Guedry Ranzino and husband Tommy; sister, Emily Richard; grandchildren, Brent E. Rhodes and wife Donna, Scot M. Rhodes and wife Pamela, Craig S. Rhodes and wife Jeannie, Amy Valiquette and husband Tommy John, Ryan Ranzino and Mike Shoudy, Mandy Broussard and husband Ron; and 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward J. Guedry, Sr. and Julia Marquette Guedry; son in law, Sherrill M. Rhodes; sister, Alice G. Dugas; and brothers, Leonard and Albert Guedry. He was an avid golfer and also loved to make miniature bird houses to give out to family and friends. He was affectionately known as the "Bird House Man" of Brusly. In his own words, he would like to tell the world "ED IS DEAD." In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Brusly Bereavement Committee.
