Lorena Tyler Crotwell Shelton entered into eternal rest with Jesus on February 8, 2016 at the age of 88. Lorena was born July 12, 1927 to Eddie and Eva Tyler in Denham Springs, LA., and lived her life in Baton Rouge as a homemaker. She was a resident of Natchitoches since 2012. Her friends, family, and church families at Crosspoint and First Baptist churches were always remembered fondly, and she missed them dearly. She was faithful to Christ and enjoyed His people. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Greenoaks Memorial Gardens, Baton Rouge, with services at 2:00 p.m. followed by a Christian burial. Dr. Oren Conner will officiate, with a musical celebration by Mrs. Dana Lux, First Baptist Church. Lorena was preceded in death by husband Floyd Crotwell, husband I.M. Shelton; parents, Eddie and Eva Tyler; sisters, Ethel Tyler Lee and Annabelle Tyler Thibodeaux; brothers, Leo Tyler and Stanley Tyler. She is survived by her three children, Sandra Crotwell McCullen and husband Wayne of Natchitoches, Gerald Wayne Crotwell and wife Shirlie of Sugarland, TX, and Patty Crotwell Swedenburg and husband William of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, David (Beth) McCullen of Oxford, MS, Brandon (McCall) McCullen of Longview, TX, Michelle (Rob) McCullen Posey of Bossier City, LA, Ben Morrow and Brooks Morrow of Dallas, TX, Brittany Morrow McLelland (Reid) of Houston, TX, Christine Crotwell Lukin (Greg) of Houston, TX, and Matthew Crotwell of Houston, TX. Lorena was ""Maw Maw"" to eight precious great grandchildren. Her grandsons are honored to be pallbearers. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the love and support of friends, Hospice of Natchitoches staff, and the committed service of the special ladies who care for Mother. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the National Alzheimer's Association (1-800-272-3900) or other charity of choice. ""Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.
