Not sure what to say?

Dear Family, I too am a member of the Overby family; and at the age of five was one of his first patients and the first of our clan to visit Dr. Doughty. He pulled one of my teeth and he said I was such a good girl. I think we had a mutual admiration from the beginning. And oh what a thrill when his baby daughter was named Karen. My name is also Karen. I embroidered a baby bib as a gift for her and started on a second one but never finished it. Not long ago I found it when moving and realized that at that young age I hadn't thought about what the backside of the item should look like. My, Oh My! But every stitch was made with stars in my eyes and love in my heart. He shared my grief at the passing of both my grandparents and my mother, as I share my grief with you, his family. I was honored to have known him. His life was an honor to the God he loved and served, and a blessing to so many of God's children. What a legacy!

As a child, my grandmother would take me, my sister, and my brother to Dr. Doughty for our dental check-ups, when we would visit her over the summer. He was such a kind, special man, and I have such fond memories of him. God's blessings, love, and comfort to each of Dr. Doughty's family members and friends.

I was raised in Dr. Doughty's dental chair! My entire family went to him and he was so close to my precious grandmother Edith Overby. She'd take him a shoe box filled with figs every year. After I was married and moved away, I wouldn't go to any other dentist! I'd still wait to go when I could go to BR and see him. He holds a very special place in the hearts of the entire Overby family. He was a dear friend, a wonderful dentist and had such a gentle [presence. I was so sad to hear from my mom that he'd gone to meet Jesus. God bless his family. Thank you for sharing him with so many over the years...

As a former neighbor of the Doughty's on Carolyn Sue I have many good memories and much appreciation to the Doughty family for years of friendship and dental service. I am saddened at Dr. Doughty's depature for heaven, but we are confident in our Lord's promise of eternal life and the resurrection. I hope that this confidence brings you strength and peace during this time. Please extend to Scott my particular sympathy.

Nell, Dr. Doughty was all of my family's dentist and we grew to love him as part of our family. When you and I worked together at Fidelity Bank, I was able to "keep in touch" with Dr. Doughty through you. He was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed by many. My prayers are with you and his brother.

We are certainly sorry to hear of Dr. Doughty's death. Our family has been patients of Dr. Doughty's since the 1950's. Mrs. Singleton was the frist family member that went to Dr. Doughty, then John Cedotal, Gertrude Kingsbury, Eugene Kingsbury, and Pam Kingsbury-Bounds. Pam was only 5 years old when she went to Dr. Doughty. Dr. Doughty was not only a fine dentist, but a true friend to our family. We just loved to go and see Dr. Doughty. He was so kind and caring. When Dr. Doughty retired, and married sweet Nell, and then we would go on trips with Nell and Dr. Doughty. Oh, how we loved to travel with them when Nell worked at Hibernia Bank, and when Nell had her own travel company. We have special treasured memories of our travels especially when we went to New Orleans, and Pam had her name tag on, and lost it. Dr. Doughty joked with Pam saying "you lost your name on Bourbon Street". We thought that was so cute and special. Words cannot express our deepest sympathy to you. We too have lost a "family member". He will be truly missed. Our prayers go with you. Love, Pam, Gertrude & John
