Eve Hebert Poche passed away peacefully at the age of 88, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales, La., on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 3:40 a.m. She was born on May 1, 1929 in Duplessis, La., and a resident of St. Amant, La. She loved to quilt and enjoyed her Cajun French Class. Visiting on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, La., from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Visiting on Monday, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 42021 Hwy. 621, Gonzales, La., from 8:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Rubin Reynolds. Burial at Hope Haven Garden of Memory, Gonzales, LA. She is survived by her daughter, Arlene P. Cormier and husband, Kenneth; three sons, Thomas A. Poche and wife Joyce "Jo", Norris J. Poche and wife Trish, and Alan D. Poche; five grandchildren, Denise Simoneaux and husband, Kevin, Alicia Poche, Greg Poche, Brandon Cormier, and Krystal Poche; and three great-grandchildren, Kameron Cormier, Claire Simoneaux, and Asher Simoneaux. Preceded in death by her husband, Walton T. Poche; her parents, Vincent and Rosalie Hebert; grandson, Damon Cormier; and four brothers, Vincent, Leus, Lucien, and Leon Hebert. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Society.
