Gwendolyn Margie Cantrell, age 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, August 27, 2018. She was born in Bogalusa, LA to Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Megehee. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 70 years, Robert Eli Cantrell; son, Robert Lowell Cantrell and wife, Deborah; brothers, Lester, Harold, Denny and Edwin Megehee; sisters, Jonnie Bilbo and Aletha Keenan. She is survived by her son, Gary David Cantrell; nine grandchildren, Cheryl, Charles, Clint, Bryan, Britt, Brice, Chad, Kirstie, and Kali; 11 great-grandchildren, Leslie, Laura, Justin, Joshua, Christopher, Emily, Joseph, Adam, Lillian, Bryce, and Madelyn; two great-great-grandchildren, Westin and Neil. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, always seeking to provide food, entertainment, and most of all love for her family. She married her childhood sweetheart December 26, 1946 and they made their home in Baton Rouge until her retirement from Sears in the late 1980's. They were longtime members of Winbourne Avenue Baptist Church in Baton Rouge and Walker Baptist Church in Walker. Visitation will be held at Walker Baptist Church on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 2 p.m. until Funeral Service at 4 p.m. officiated by Dr. Richard Blue. Interment will follow at Walker Baptist Church Cemetery.
