Co-owner of Greco Pet & Veterinary Supplies and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2007, in Baton Rouge. She was 70 and a native of Oxford, Miss. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., was on Monday, June 25, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until service in the chapel at 2:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Dorothy Reaves; and brother, Chester "Buddy" Reaves Jr. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Joseph "Joe" Greco; and four sons and daughters-in-law and their families: Perry and Shelia Greco and their children, Joshua, Welcome and Jennifer, and Jennifer's son, Jakob; Kelly and Susan Greco of Portland, Ore.; Andy and Marie Greco of Greenwell Springs; and Brian and Ena Greco of Richmond, Va., and their son, Christopher Quincy. Mrs. Joan attended the University of Mississippi, where she met her husband, Joe. She was the past state president of Future Homemakers of America in the state of Mississippi. She was active in the March of Dimes and was a longtime member of Goodwood Church of Christ. These are just a few of her many, many accomplishments. The Greco family is deeply grateful for all the loving care and kindness given to Mrs. Joan by the staff members of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and all of the doctors who cared for her. We also want to thank the faithful employees at Greco's for their efforts during this difficult time. Pallbearers will be Ulysses "Bones" Addison, Wayne Carter; and her four sons, Perry, Kelly, Andy and Brian Greco.

Mr. Joe and Family,

I am so sorry for the great loss. Mrs. Joan was an exceptional lady. She was a wonderful friend to myself and the entire Miley family. Living two doors down from one another for 30 years, our families experienced a lot together.

I will cherish the memories of Mrs. Dot Reaves, Mrs. Joan, my Mom (Elizabeth Miley) and myself talking, laughing, and eating many lunches together!

I will miss Mrs. Joan, her beautiful smile, her words of wisdom, and her love for others.

My prayer for the Greco family is that each of you are able to feel God's presence, and lean on His strength and peace during the upcoming days, weeks and months.

My prayers are with all of you.

Joe and family - From the time I was about 12, my family (Elwood & Jessie Efferson, Mark and I) depended on you and Joan for more than just our pharmacy needs - we depended on you for your friendship and support. And I don't know how I'd have raised my own kids without your help during those early years and you and Joan were raising the boys then too. Like you, Joan was wonderful to everyone she met and would help anyone with anything. I know that my Daddy and Mama were glad to see Joan when she got to heaven - it is a richer place with her there. I know that we will all be with her again and she is free of all pain and sorrow. Please know that I am here for you all, as you and Joan have always been there for all of us. May the Lord hold you near in your time of sorrow, and grant you His peace and comfort.
