Mrs. Rosamond and children,
I was so saddened to hear of Mr. Nick's death although I knew he was so ill for so long. My family and I were in Pensacola Beach when he passed away and I regret so very much that I could not attend the services. He fought a long, hard, painful battle and now we can take comfort knowing he is reaping his rewards. I got to know him better while serving alongside him as a member of the Iberville Museum's Board of Directors and came to admire his passion for history and preservation. Without the vision and tenacity of Mr. Nick, Iberville Parish would have no museum. He loved everything about life. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

To the Louis Nicolosi Family,

It's always sad when a loved one passes. And when the loved one is the caliber of Louis Nicolosi, its so many times worse.
The consolation is that you have so many good memories of a great man. I can't think of a person who had so much education and talents, yet was always so modest and humble.
It was my privilege and honor to have played the saxophone along side of Louis Nicolosi.
And Sandra thought there was no nicer person in our community than your husband and father.

We'll all miss him!!!

Dear Mrs. Nicolosi and family,
You are all in my prayers. Mr. Nick was one of my favorite teachers. One of my fondest memories was helping Gary Ray pick up Mr. Nick's golf balls he would stay after school and hit in the field. (of course I needed to pick them up before my dad (Mr. Joe) would run over them with "the green tractor". Mr. Nick was one of a kind and he was always there for us when we needed him. Inez Boudreaux Richard called me the night he passed and we talked for hours remembering all the great old days at Gay School with all of the wonderful teachers like you and Mr. Nick. Sorry I can't attend his services, but know that I'm thinking of you all.

Nicolosi Family, I am thankful I had the honor to meet Mr. Nicolosi on several occasions both in NC and in LA. over a period of time. I remember his sense of humor the most. He made me laugh and his love for life showed through everything he said and did. He told me of a small book of jokes he had written. I asked him for a copy and he sent me one! I still have it to this day and will remember him fondly when ever I need a good laugh to lift my spirits. May God be with you to comfort you through your grief and time of sadness. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Mrs. Nicolosi and family:

I must tell you that my heart stopped for a few minutes when I read the obituaries this morning. Immediately, my mind started a stroll down Memory Lane and thought about my school days at Gay School. Mr. Nicolosi was not only a wonderful teacher, but an exceptional human being. He was always there if we needed advice and direction and helped us build self-esteem. Even as an adult, when I would bump into him on occasional trips to Plaquemine, we would laugh about the "good ol' days" and trade stories. As sad as I am about his death, I feel a big smile coming on because I am one of the lucky ones who benefitted from his knowledge, wisdom, generosity, laughter and friendship.

May God keep you and your loved ones in the palm of his hand and give you strength to move forward, as I am sure Mr. Nicolosi would want you to.

Nick was one of the kindest people I have ever known - those great smiling eyes. We worked together at the Department of Education on many joint projects, and later when he worked with Consumer Credit Counseling. He was always looking for ways to help others. He made my life much richer for knowing him.

Ms. Rosamond and family,
Far too infrequently in life we encounter someone who truly touches our lives in a way that makes an impact on us for a lifetime. Nick was just such a person in my and Karen's life. We have such wonderful memories of our 7th grade history class with him. He truly exemplified what a dedicated educator was. This world was absolutely better because of him. Our prayers are with you and your family.

We are friends of his daughter, Sharla up here in Charlotte and express our deepest sympathies to your family at the loss of a wonderful father and friend. We can see why Sharla's interests paralleled that of her Dad with the Jaycees, LSU and helping others. He truly made a wonderful impression on a special young lady. We love her and are praying for all of you that an inner peace will come out of all of this and that he will always be with you in the wonderful memories you hold so dear of him. May God lift all of you up and hold you near in His care.

With love,

I was fortunate to have known Nick for a number of years. He was a true gentleman, a caring individual and a great educator. I had the opportunity to work with him on several projects and was always impressed by his work ethic and his desire to do the best for the children in our school systems. He will be missed, but the many activities and projects he started will continue to be a memorial to him. I was so lucky to have had the opportunity to know him.

My sympathy to his family and friends. I'm sure he left you all with beautiful memories. God will help you through these difficult times.

There will come a day when your tears of sorrow will softly flow into tears of remembrance and your heart will begin to heal itself and grieving will be interrupted by episodes of joy; and you will hear the whisper of hope.

There will come a day when you will welcome the tears of remembrance as a sun shower of the soul, a turning of the tide, and
a promise of peace.

There will come a day when you will go on believing and treasure the tears of remembering.

It is all God, go on remembering.

Today, I learned my favorite teacher passed away. What a wonderful teacher and person Mr. Nicolosi was. I have nothing but wonderful memories of being in his class. He was hands on before the term ever came about. I remember everyone bringing things their families still had from the civil war. What a display that was !!!!!!
He will always be in my prayers and I just would like to say," Thanks Mr. Nicolosi for your time and your caring nature".

Rosamund,

I was so sorry to hear on Sunday from Karen Gay that Nick was sinking; and now I read that he has passed on. You and your children and all of Nick's family are in my prayers. I am remembering all of those good times we had together years ago when our children were youngsters. Nick was an outstanding person, wonderful husband and father, and a cherished friend to many. God bless you all!
