Agnes and I went to Radcliffe together. We were in the same class-- the first to be admitted after the assassination of Dr. King. She clearly made her mark in the world. Life well lived. Fine person.
So sad to learn that she is gone. L

Just learned that Agnes died in June. I got to know her when she transferred into Glen Oaks High, and she was one of the brightest students I've ever had the privilege of teaching. I got to know several of her family members and was so proud of her being offered a Radcliff-Harvard full scholarship. I got to enjoy her company when she took a counseling job at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, where I was teaching English in the early 1970s. She visited us in Vermont many years later...and I visited her a couple of times in Baton Rouge. She was courageous, kind, and loving....and totally dedicated to those with whom she worked as a mental health professional and as a librarian. She remained close to her family--especially her sister--and she was super proud of her nieces. I'm sad to know I'll not see her on this side of eternity and sorry we lost touch over the past 10 years or so. I'm heartened by the postings on this site, for they reassure me that this wonderful person was loved and appreciated by all those whose lives she touched. Rest in peace, Agnes....I send love and condolences to your family.

Scotlandville Class 1969. My sincere condolence to Agnes´ Family. I remember the nice, kind and really smart person Agnes was in High School. From the messages of sympathy and her career she continued to be the same wonderful person. Agnes was the first person I knew that went to prestigious Radcliffe/Harvard. Wow what an honor. Agnes Scotlandville Classmates were so proud of her. Now May she Rest In Peace in the arms of our Lord.

Remembering Agnes and the Jackson family living on Curtis Street and attending Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Our families were close and took care of each other in those days. I always loved her for the quiet and sweet spirit she was!

I graduated with Agnes from Glen Oaks. She was quiet and extremely smart. We were all excited when she received her scholarship from Radcliff. What an accomplishment. I know she is rejoicing in heaven today.

I loved Agnes so much. I worked with her at Zachary Library but always felt she was a true & caring friend. She was thoughtful before she spoke & each time it was worth listening to. God Bless her and her family. She wrote a beautiful note to me when my sister passed away & it meant the world to me.
