AUSTIN - Ahmad Austin departed this life on May 1, 2019 at the tender age of 16. He was a native of New Orleans and resident of Gonzales. Ahmad was a student at East Ascension High School, enjoyed playing football and basketball, and had a passion for music.


He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Monique Austin of Gonzales; his father, David Petit of Baton Rouge; his grandmother, Rose Mary Austin of New Orleans; (4) brothers: Jareth Hill, Jeremiah Austin, David and Darnell Perry; (5) sisters: Jerranisha Austin, Devina Petit, LaQuisha, Brianna and Demetrice Perry; as well as a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 11, 2019 for 11:00am at Trinity AME Church 1420 S. Darla Ave., Gonzales, LA. Rev. Ritney Castine, Pastor/Officiating. Visitation from 9:00am until service time.

Ahmad was a wonderful and humble young man ,We enjoyed him at Gonzales Middle School ,He always enjoyed helping our team to do different projects around campus. Our hearts are so sad ,Rest in peace!! With Love , Mrs. Henrietta , Mr. Cornell ,Mr. Skidmore
