Alco Thades "June" Weams, Jr., age 70, entered eternal rest on November 9, 2021 at his home. He was born October 20, 1951 to the late Audrey Mae Broux and Alco Thades Weams, Sr. in New Orleans, LA. He was educated in the Ascension Parish School System, and went on to join the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. He also worked at the Atlanta Airport, as well as in the Petrochemical Industry in St. Gabriel, Louisiana. June accepted Christ and was baptized at Mount Gillion Baptist Church by the late Rev. Delaney. He remained a member of Mount Gillion until the time of his passing. June loved hosting gatherings of family and friends, especially the main event which was his annual grand birthday celebration. He would always begin a month early in September reminding visitors "You know my birthday is coming up." His diehard love for the New York Yankees was unmatched. He leaves to cherish his wonderful memory five brothers, Bruce (Bobbie) Weams, Sr. of Prairieville, LA, Dwayne (Sandra) James, Prairieville, LA, Reginald (Freda) Broux, Baton Rouge, LA, Wayne Weams, Prairieville, LA and Jason (Rhonda) Broux, Sr. of New Orleans, LA, two sisters, Lindel Brown, Baton Rouge, LA and Jennifer (James) Hilliard of Prairieville, LA, two aunts, Carrie Stevenson, Baton Rouge, LA, and Ollie Weams, Prairieville, LA, three uncles, James Weams, Prairieville, LA, Leonard Aikens, Baton Rouge, LA and Earl Henry, New Orleans, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey Broux and Alco Weams, Sr., grandparents Israel Weams, Ellen Weams, Paul Broux and Dorothy Taylor, and a brother, Royal Broux, Sr. Visitation Saturday, November 20, 2021 10:00 a.m. until religious service begins at 12:00 noon, Mount Gillion Baptist Church, 38280 Henry Road, Prairieville, LA. Interment Mount Gillion Baptist Church Cemetery. Funeral services entrusted to Charles Mackey Funeral Home, 1576 Robin Street, Baton Rouge, LA.
