Anthony "Tony" Alex Garafola, 75 years old of Hammond, LA, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015. Tony was born on Friday, June 30, 1939, in Hammond. Surviving are brother & sister-in-law, Nace and Deborah Garafola; nieces and nephews, George and Jerry Miller, Debbie Shapiro, Sherry Barker, Timothy Garafola, Terri Traylor, Eddie Tynes, Brice Tynes, Cody Garafola, and Rachel Davis, also numerous great nieces & nephews. Tony's "adopted grandchildren", in his heart, Candace Ellis, Lacey Ellis, and Bailey Barber. He is preceded in death by parents, Nace Garafola Sr. and Johanna Latino Garafola, sisters, Angie Miller, Rose Tynes, Angelina and Frances Garafola, brothers, Sam, Joe and Charles Garafola. Friends will be received Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until services at Calvary Pentecostal Church. Services will be held at Calvary Pentecostal Church, Wednesday, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Jeffrey Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in the Colonial Cemetery, Independence, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Tony Garafola to Calvary Pentecostal Church,14602 Jericho Road, Hammond, LA 70401 or to the American Cancer Society.
