My Mother, who lives in Baton Rouge, informed me of Mr. Mitchell passing away! I am still in shock....never thought he would die! I worked w Mr Mitchell at Capital Bank for 10 years , as his secretary... then because of his kindness and help I became a Commercial Loan Officer, until I moved to WA State! We have stayed in touch since moving here....Barbara and Mr. Mitchell even came to see us on their RV journey around the United States! He was for sure the Best Boss I have ever had... Fair...kind...Christian man....who was sure a light to the world with his talents! He was one of the best witnesses of The Lord to the world...I have ever known! A few years ago...out of the blue...I got a letter from him.....it was beautiful....He said he had been thinking about me...and I contributed to his success at Capital bank...when I was his secretary! Wow ...that so special to me....but actually it was because of him...I was successful at Capital Bank....He loved his wife and children........God was first in his life...family second! I could go on and on about Arthur Mitchell......I will never forget him and he influenced my life!!!! I will always miss you! Going to Baton Rouge next week and was planning to go see Mr. Mitchell...makes me sad he will not be there anymore! But I know he is here in spirit, and at home w The Lord where he belongs!

Barbara and family, I am so sorry to hear about Arthur, or Billy, as my mom always called him (still don't know why!) I know we haven't seen each other in years, but I often thought about you guys, and wondered what you were doing now. What a wonderful man he was - we know who he is singing with now!

Arthur was a wonderful man and I know will be missed by many. I worked with him at Capital Bank and he was always an inspiration of a person who could combine working hard with a Christian attitude. He was professional, yet kind and generous with his time. My husband worked with Arthur at Bank of West Baton Rouge and thought highly of him. Our lives were blessed from having worked with Arthur.

I recall as a teenager going to Cyndi's house in the evening and listening to Mr. Mitchell play music and sing with his son Arti, mostly John Denver songs. Many years later, when I was working downtown for a title company he came in one afternoon. While waiting for a closing, he picked up a nursery rhyme book and started reading to a child he did not know. This child was waiting for his mother to come back out of a closing. These are the memories that I have of Cyndi's father. What a kind and loving man he was. His kindness did not go unnoticed.

Arthur was a Vice President at the Bank I started with right out of college. I was telling a young friend in the coffee shop at the bank that I had bought a used couch for my wife and I's apartment and didn't know how I was going to get it there. Arthur overheard us and offered to go with me in his station wagon to get it. He even helped me get it into our upstairs apartment. He was an extremely kind man. God has called home one of his finest souls.
