Betty Jane Compagno Dubuisson passed away suddenly in Metairie, Louisiana on January 3, 2022 as a result of complications after a recent injury. She was the beloved wife of Paul Louis Dubuisson for 57 years. Betty was born on October 8, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana, daughter of the late Peter and Pearl Thom Compagno. She grew up in Uptown New Orleans, around the corner from her family's legendary Fern Street restaurant, Compagno's. She is survived by her loving husband, Paul, and her devoted children, Christine Dubuisson Perkins (Tom) and Mark James Dubuisson (Traci) and her beloved grandchildren, Connelly Grant James Dubuisson, Emma Elizabeth Dubuisson, Gavin Thomas Perkins, Emelia Katharine Perkins and Graham Downing Perkins, and her brother, Anthony Compagno. She is predeceased by her parents and her sister-in-law, Ann Compagno. Betty leaves behind a large extended family who will cherish her memory. She is survived by her five sisters-in-law, who loved her dearly, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews from both the Compagno and Dubuisson families. Betty attended Mater Dolorosa Elementary School and was a 1961 graduate of The Academy of the Holy Angels. Paul and Betty were high school sweethearts. After they met, while he was a student at Holy Cross and she at Holy Angels, they were inseparable. After graduation, Betty worked in the executive offices of The Louisiana Coca-Cola Bottling Company until Paul finished his service in the United States Navy. They married on April 4, 1964. After Christine and Mark were born, Betty devoted herself to taking care of her husband and children and keeping a beautiful home. She was the ultimate soccer and dance mom, activities in which both her children excelled. After her children were grown, she worked as an executive assistant for New York Life Insurance Company in New Orleans. Betty was a beautiful soul and a kind and gentle woman who was cherished by her family and friends. Betty and I were friends in our Freshmen and Sophomore years of high school. She and I were in the Spanish home room class. We chose different paths during our Junior and Senior years. As a result we no longer shared classes. As I saw Betty´s picture, I believe it was her beauty court photo, I was struck by the fresh and lovely memories I have of Betty and grateful for the two years of constant friendship we shared. I was blessed to have had her for my friend. She is with Our Lord and is now one of His Holy Angels.

There´s so much I could say to express my love for Betty. She loved life and it loved her right back, her love for all was so unconditional. She was beautiful inside and out . Betty asked for so little, her family was her life. She was like a big sister for me growing up as a little girl. I have so many precious memories I will treasure forever. All I can say those who touch our lives stay in our hearts forever. When God made Betty he threw the mold away. My deepest sympathy to the family love always Cynthia
