Charlie Clark Obituary

Charlie Dave Clark, 75, a lifelong resident of Walker, LA, passed away from COVID-19 complications on December 22, 2020 with his beloved wife at his side. He was born September 30, 1945 and was a 1963 graduate of Walker High School. He retired from the Department of Transportation and Development in 1994, and spent the next 26 years dedicating himself to being the best husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend to those who knew him. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Cato and Lelea Clark, in-laws Thomas and Gloria Maher, his brother Gene Clark, sister-in-law Tina Clark, and brother-in-law John Nutefall. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rhonda Maher Clark, his son Chad and wife Adrienne Clark, daughter Rebekah Clark, grandchildren Elizabeth, Laura, Kyle, and Addison Grace Clark, brother Travis and wife Linda Sue Clark, sister Betty Clark, sister-in-law Elizabeth Ruth Nutefall, sister-in-law Shelly and husband Wayne Whited, brother-in-law Thomas and wife Cindy Maher, and 11 nieces and nephews. Known as Charlie, Dave, dad, and pawpaw, he was a man of few words and a constant smile. He was dedicated to his family, hard-working, honest, and selfless. His hobbies ranged and changed as life progressed. From baseball, basketball, and squirrel hunting as a youth, to enduro motorcycle racing, watching his children play sports, skiing, bicycling, and camping as an adult, he was perhaps best known for his meticulous yardwork. His passing has left a large hole in his family's lives, but we are truly blessed to have his memories fill our hearts and minds. With respect to COVID-19 restrictions, the family is inviting the public to attend a virtual memorial service on January 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. The service will be streamed from the Walker Baptist Church Facebook and YouTube pages.

Rhonda, words cannot express how sorry we are to hear about Dave’s passing. He was such a wonderful person. We have some great memories of when all of us would ride our motorcycles at Chipola. Camping out on the pipeline brings some awesome memories. The enduro races that him, my dad, Uncle Bernie and Phil would ride in are some of my favorite memories from my childhood. Dave will be greatly missed. May God give you strength to face the days ahead. We love you all and will be praying for you and your family.
