Christine Douglas Hubbs, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother died November 18, 2021 at the age of 90. She was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, and was born in Logtown, Mississippi. She was a 1948 graduate of Istrouma High School, a homemaker, and a retired LPN. She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda V. Hubbs and Carla Hubbs Meliet (Nathan); grandsons, Jason Meliet (Brittiny), Jared Meliet (Rebecca), Kurt Meliet (Chelsea); 5 great grandchildren, Gracie, Alexis, Lillian, Easton Meliet, and Jackson Mistric. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Mac V. Hubbs Jr.; her infant daughter, Phyllis K. Hubbs; her parents, Christopher Carey Douglas and Harvis Smith Douglas; her brothers, Willie, Monvel. and C.C. Douglas; and her sister, Louise Clark Dipaola. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 from 12:00-2:00 pm at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70815. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm, with interment to follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Fidelis White Rd. and St. Joseph's Hospice for their kindness and care.

Rhonda, I think of you often. I'm sorry to read of your Mother's passing. I have fond memories of our early friendship. I'll be praying for you and Carla during this difficult time.

Carla you've been in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time with your mother. I pray she found peace as she met our Lord Jesus. I also pray for you and your sister as you start your new season without your mother. I'll be praying for you and your sister.
