It is with great honor that we share with you that a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and friend, Clive J. Landry, went home to be with his Savior on October 20, 2021. Clive was born on September 10, 1938, to Felix and Nellie Bourg Landry of Belle Rose. He was a resident of White Castle, Louisiana, and was a devoted husband and loving father, taking care of his family was of utmost importance to him. He was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in White Castle, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He also treasured his time during his men's retreats at Manresa. Known as 'Hoppie' by many in the community, Clive loved to cook jambalaya and white beans for school fairs and benefits. He was a retired sugar cane farmer and an avid gardener. After a long day's work at Georgia Gulf, you could find him on the lawn mower or in one of his many gardens. He and his wife loved to travel, host weekly prayer meetings in their home, and going to their camp in Bayou Corne. After retirement, Hoppie started his own "Breakfast Club" where biscuits and coffee were readily available every weekday morning. Clive was an avid sports fan, especially LSU and Yankees baseball. Clive is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marian L. Landry; sisters Dorothy 'Dot' Landry and Anna Belle Chedotal; brothers Cleve Landry (twin), Steve Landry and Willie Landry. He is survived by his children Lenes Gomez (Peggy) and Ramona Gomez Perrin (Dennis); grandchildren Deidre Gomez Kirkland (Kevin), Falyne Perrin Kirkpatrick (Jacob) and Dr. Tyler Perrin Bellelo (Bryan); great-grandchildren Jordan Alcorn Guillot, Joseph Kirkland, JT Kirkpatrick, Kara Kirkpatrick, Mia Bellelo, Madeline Bellelo, Chloe Bellelo; great-great-grandchildren Ainsley Alcorn and Landon Guillot and sisters Marina Aucoin and Velma Cousin. Pallbearers will be Joseph Kirkland, Kevin Kirkland, Bryan Bellelo, Jacob Kirkpatrick, Michael Edwards, Herben Henry and Eric Delone. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Simmers, Brian Landry, Guy Hymel, Jr., JT Kirkpatrick, Doris Delone and Dewey Callegan, Jr. The family would like to thank the staff of Comfort Care Hospice and Dr. John Amadon at Our Lady of the Lake for their care and kindness during this time; Mr. Bill Simmers for his dear friendship to our Hoppie, his early morning visits to sharing biscuits, coffee, and the morning paper, and to Doris Delone, his beloved and faithful caretaker to whom we cannot ever thank enough for taking such great care of our Hoppie, we will forever be grateful for your love and support! Services to celebrate Clive's life will be held privately due to COVID. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to the Down Syndrome Association of Acadiana in honor of Clive's great-granddaughter Chloe Bellelo. Our heart felt condolences to all the Landry family. I was not a family member, but I loved my dearest friend Hoppie. After moving away and working so much, I never got over to visit like we wanted. We sometimes cried when arriving and leaving, because we never knew when we would be able to visit again. We connected in some special way which I can say I felt like a son to him. Marian and Clive were a pillar to the community, and was loved and respected by all that knew them and their loving hearts. What a wonderful celebration it was when our Hoppie passed into the Lord's presence!! and held close those who were there to meet him as he entered. I am so sorry I didn't keep close enough to his last days, we all get so busy with our lives and sometime forget those loved ones so special. So many memories I will hold in my heart of my dearest friend.
