David Dwayne Jones was born August 11th, 1983 to the union of Hilary and Diane Jones, Sr. Wayne, as he was known by family and friends, departed this life after a courageous battle with illness on October 27, 2018 in the Butterfly Wing of the Hospice of Baton Rouge. Wayne attended Glen Oaks High School and played the trombone in the marching band where he assumed the nickname, "Cornbread" by his fellow band members. Wayne enjoyed spending time with family and Friends and was an avid Southern University football fan; he was usually by his father's side tailgating and attending games. Wayne was very well known and appreciated in the neighborhood; one could always find him assisting friends and neighbors with home improvement projects or lawn care. Wayne leaves to cherish his memory: a father, Hilary Jones, Sr.; a brother, Eric (LaTasha) Jones, Sr.; a niece and nephew, Erin and Eric Jr.; all of Baton Rouge, LA; and a host of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Diane C. Jones; a brother, Hilary Jones Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Elmore and Robertine Causey Sr.; and his paternal grandparents, Rolin and Lillian Jones, Sr. Funeral Services are set for 2pm, November 9th at Winnfield Funeral home.

I'm deeply sorry for the lost of your loved one. He was a very polite young man and willing

My deepest sympathies to the family on your loss. There are no words that can ease the pain of losing someone so beloved. May you find comfort and peace in knowing that your loved one is in God's memory because those who pass on are precious in his eyes. (Psalms 116:15)
