David Lake Obituary

David passed away at his home on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at the age of 83. He was native and lifelong resident of Plaquemine. David was a Navy Veteran. He was a retired tugboat pilot. Visitation will be at Wilbert Funeral Home in Plaquemine on Wednesday, December 1st, 10 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Grosse Tete. David is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Hernandez Lake; two children, Lisa Sproles and husband Greg, Byron Lake and fiancée Yana Sedrome; nine grandchildren, Jamie St. Romain, Ashlyn Friddle, Karli Sproles, Darren Lake, Jonathon Lake, David Lake II, Halle Lake, Samantha Lake, Ethan Lake; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Darvy Lake and Joyce Weatherford. David was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rita Aughey Lake; siblings, James Lake Jr, Marvin Lake, Gene Lake, Mary Ann McDougal and Sue Hall. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Friddle, Cade St. Romain, Byron Lake, Lawrence LeBlanc Jr, David Guidry and Clifton Lake. Honorary pallbearers will be David II, Darren and Jonathon Lake.
