Donna Smith Carney passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at the age of 64, after her battle with MS and ovarian cancer. She is now at peace in the everlasting arms of her Heavenly Father. She was born and raised in Hattiesburg, MS and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA. She leaves her legacy and cherished memories with her friends and family. Donna was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Survived by her husband of 45 years, Gary Carney; daughter, Deidre Burhoe and husband, Bryan; sons, Lee Carney and wife, Kristen and Scott Carney and wife, Rebecca; grandchildren, Dylan Carney, Brantley and Ryland Carney, Kynzie and Skylar Carney, and Kylee, Brenden and Brooke Burhoe. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Col. Calvin and Sharleen Smith. God has Donna in His keeping and we have her in our hearts. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, LA, on Sunday, October 10, 2021, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. A visitation will continue, Monday, October 11, 2021, from 11:00am to 1:00pm. A gravesite service will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge, LA.
