Donnie Tobe Brister
Donnie T. Brister, 59, a native of Baton Rouge, LA went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 27, 2021. Donnie is survived by his only son Daniel (Kelli) Brister; grandchild Beau Brister; his mother, Mary Anna Lieux; his siblings, Bobby Lee (Stacey) Brister, Pam Brister and Patti (Doug) Tucker; stepmother, Candace Brister; stepsister, Lisa Shaw; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Brister and stepfather, Jimmy Lieux. Donnie was a loving father, brother, grandfather, son and friend. He enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, cooking, watching the LSU Tigers and sharing a cold Coors Light. As stubborn and hardheaded as they come, Donnie did things his way. The oldest of four siblings he became a leader at a young age. Never shying down from a challenge, he would battle any man on the football field at Belaire High School. This made a foundation of strength for later serving four years in the United States Navy. As tough as Donnie was, his heart showed more than anything. Donnie was always caring, helpful and smiling. He never met a stranger. A grave side service with full military honors will be held at the Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary, LA on Friday, October 15th at 2:00pm. Please arrive 20 minutes early and park to the right side. A celebration of life to be held at a later date. He was one of a kind and will deeply missed by many. In lieu of flowers, the family is grateful for donations made to: The Fallen Riders Foundation: 16230 Hubbs Road, Pride, Louisiana 70770.

Remembering Cowboy Donnie being so kind taking time to coming up into the stands after his rodeo @ LSU to take a picture with my little nephew. He sure was a hero that night. RIP Donnie. Prayers to the family.

Some of my loving memories of Donnie was at an early age he was a protector of family and friends! Donnie at 4 yrs old would get up and give up his seat when an adult came into the room! Such a little gentleman! Donnie would stop by to visit with his Uncle Dennie and me when coming through Baton Rouge frequently. Dennie and I loved his visits with us! I feel certain he spirit is entertaining his loved ones in heaven as he was warmly welcomed. Rest In Peace Donnie Tobe and know you were loved by many! Aunt Jo Ann
