Doris D. Brinkley, a loving wife, mother, and daughter, passed away at her home on Monday, May 1, 2018 at the age of 64. Doris held fast to an unaltering faith in Jesus Christ. She was a graduate of Glen Oaks High School. Her signature phrase was "love you more." She was an amazing cook-although not in a restaurant, a teacher-although not in a classroom, and a friend-in every way that's possible. Her generous spirit, her positive personality, and her loving heart inspired her to be loved by all who knew her. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in lives of her loving husband of 46 years, William "Bill' Brinkley; daughter, Buffy; mother, Gloria "Patsy" Duncan; sister, Lola; sister-in-law, Lisa; nieces, Dawn, Angie, and Misty; nephews, Jason and William; great nephews, cousins and numerous friends who became her family. She was preceded in death by her son, who passed on January 30, 1998, and was no doubt waiting to hug her as she made her journey home; father, James; brothers, Tommy and Ray; and numerous aunts and uncles. Heaven is a much lovelier place today with her there. The family would like to extend an invitation to attend a memorial visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Central, LA on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. #LoveYouMore.

My heart hurts so much to learn of Doris' passing, but we are filled with joy that we know where Doris will be, right beside her son. We thank Buffy for calling us up here in Minnesota. It took me an hour to call Buffy back because I just knew she was going to tell me that Doris had passed. I will always remember my time with Doris during my working with her and my visiting at their home, and especially the special time when Doris and Bill came up to Minnesota to visit with us. Our hearts are with you, Bill and Buffy. We will never ever forget you, Doris, and Bill and Buffy. Love from Minnesota, Barbara & Bruce Maki

I am so very sorry for your loss. I loved Mrs. Doris and she treated me like one of her own children. She always laughed at my jokes and I can still hear her voice and laughter. Buffy I want you to know I will be here to walk with you through this grief journey. It has been said that grief exists because a great love existed. So it is with Mrs. Doris a great love existed between her and everyone that knew her. Our prayers are with your family during this difficult time.
Love you guys!!

We have lost one of the sweetest people. Doris was always gracious.
She made great coffee and shared it. Great conversations and you could always see the love for her children and Bill. Will be missed but remembered forever.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. I hope that the promise at 1Thessalonians 4:14 will bring you comfort. Knowing that there is a future for the ones we have lost in death can be reassuring.

Every day I got to spend with you was a blessing and I'll always cherish every second we shared. All the laughter, all the special, loving moments. You were always the most beautiful person I knew. Every day we said, "I love you." And whoever said it first always received "Love you more." So, Mom, I love you! (I know you love me more...)
