Elizabeth Walker Obituary

On October 12, 2021 at 2:15am, Elizabeth Ann Walker was finally allowed and welcomed to stand in the presence of, and see the face of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. "Liz", as she was known, was born to the union of Charles Emmitt Harrell and Thelma Harrell on January 16, 1941 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was the oldest of three children that this marriage was blessed with: Charles Harrell and Brenda Kay Harrell. Liz graduated from Central High School and then attended Baton Rouge Business College. She worked at General Chemical where she met her future husband Billy Ray Walker. They were married in November of 1961 and were blessed with three children. Liz was called to ministry, to spread the good news of God's plan of salvation to all. She was ordained a minister in the Assembly of God Church. She faithfully served our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ until her death. Liz and her husband were commercial farmers and owners of B&L Farms. She and Bill spent many summer days selling tomato's, vegetables, and Washington Parish watermelons from their home on Devall Road in Central, La. They were also avid travelers and campers and made numerous lifelong friends along the way. They never met a stranger. Liz is survived by her children, Bryan Keith Walker (Linda); Stacey Lynn Blaha (Michael), and Allison Elizabeth Halphen. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brandon Walker (Brandy), Christopher Walker, Lauren Walker, Jonathan Walker, Cai Blaha, Kade Halphen, Kaleb Halphen, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. Also, many nieces and nephews and beloved sister-in-law Carolyn Furlow. She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Ray Walker, and her parents Charles and Thelma Harrell. The family wishes to thank all who cared for her in her final months. Her brother, Butch Harrell and his wife MaryAnn Harrell and sister Brenda Bankston who provided around the clock care for her. We would also like to thank nurses Hannah, Carmen, and the staff of Hospice of Baton Rouge. Visitation for Liz will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Tuesday October 19, 2021 from 9:00am until Funeral Service at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Thank you Mom! Not only did you teach us about unconditional love, more importantly, you lived it everyday. We Love you!

I met your parents about ten years ago and although Lee knew them both much better than myself I was blessed to have known them the time I did. I will miss your sweet mom as I do your dad. I wish I had met them years ago. My deepest condolences to your family.

We were saddened to hear of your loss. Liz and Billy were both such wonderful people. We loved the tomatoes and poinsettias. We were especially blessed when they so graciously gave us Samson. He was so sweet. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Your Mom was a wonderful and inspiration to me. She truly exemplified what a true Christian should be. I was so honored to call her my friend.
