Gerald A. Soulier, 85, a native of Grosse Tete and a resident of Batchelor, La., passed away Friday, Oct. 8, 2021. He was a 1955 graduate of Istrouma High School and worked in Baton Rouge until he retired to his farm, where he lived for many years. Visiting will be at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, from 10 a.m. until Rite of Christian Burial at noon, conducted by Deacon Bob McDonner. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Gerald is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Barbier Soulier; daughters, Wendy Soulier Gibson and husband Billy, and Molly Soulier Gilchrest and husband Chris; grandchildren, Casey Gibson, Naomi Browning, Austin Gibson, and Brianna Gilchrest; step granddaughter, Peyton Gilchrest; brother, Warren D. Soulier, Sr. and Mildred; sister, Carolyn Easley and husband Gene; sister-in-law, Grace Soulier; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Eusebe and Edna Daigre Soulier; brother, Charles L. Soulier; sister, Marolyn Giroir; sister-in-law, Lorna Soulier; brother-in-law, Carroll Girior; nephews, David, Warren D., Jr., and Eric Soulier; and uncle Warren and aunt Daisy Daigre Bethancourt who raised him from a young boy. Serving as pallbearers are Billy Gibson, Austin Gibson, Chris Gilchrest, Mike Luckett, Darren Soulier and Dylan Soulier. Honorary pallbearers are Warren Soulier, Gerald J.
