Helen Faye David Duplessis passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021, following a brief period of illness. She was born December 9, 1939, the eldest daughter of the late Fred and Ida Pourciau David of New Roads, LA. Helen touched the hearts and lives of her family and friends with a quick wit, charming humor, and determined energy. Her love was unconditional and selfless. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Philip; son and wife, David & Jennifer Duplessis; daughter and husband, Phyllis & Donald Turnage; two granddaughters, Brooke and husband Brent Rhodes, Lauren and husband Tom Heap; two step grandsons, Ben and Bret Thompson; nine great grandchildren, Emmeline, John Brent, namesake Catherine "Faye", and Philip Rhodes, Veronica and Estelle Heap, and Bryant, Brynnley and Colten Thompson. Also surviving Helen were her two sisters, Barbara Jordan, and Gail and her spouse Ken Diamond. Helen leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will sadly miss her love of life and her joyous spirit. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, and she was an avid fan of LSU and New Orleans Saints football. She enjoyed baking, cooking, decorating and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her family and many special neighborhood friends. Pallbearers will be Tom Heap, Donald Turnage, Ken Diamond, Ben Thompson, Bret Thompson, and Brian Duplessis. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at noon. Immediately following Mass, a graveside service will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge. In celebration of Helen's life, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
