"Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am there you may be also; John 14, 1-3. Irma Elzenia Evans Hubbard was a native of Galvez, Louisiana and a longtime resident of Baker, Louisiana. She was born October 28, 1936 and died January 1, 2022 with her children by her side at Baton Rouge General from complications due to COVID. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her family with all her heart and was proud of each and everyone of them. She is finally back with the love of her life and we know our parents are so happy to be back together. She is survived by her sons, Gerald "Bo" W. Hubbard Jr. and wife Kristy, Matthew "Matt" Hubbard and wife Natalie, John Hubbard and wife Lisa, Stephen Hubbard and wife Andrea, daughters, Penny Hubbard and Shawn "Prissy" Vides and husband Julio, Lisa Key and husband Jimmy, grandchildren, Joshua Hubbard (grandson she raised as her own), Miranda Meredith and husband Dale, Courtney Schild and husband Mackenzie, Skyler Vides (Lacey Shipp), Gerald "Trey" W. Hubbard III, Jordan Law and husband Matt, Kyle Hubbard, Peyton Hubbard, Dylan Hubbard, Cliff Key and wife Cara, Joseph Key and wife Victoria, Robin Key and wife Hannah, great-grandchildren, Kyleigh and Taylor Meredith, Harliegh and Hadliegh Hubbard, Aradee and Arason Pepper, Evan Wayne, Kylen, and Gage Vides, Kenleigh Robinson, Harrison Schild, April, Mason, Conner, and Aryah Key, Gustaro Key, Emilie and Tessa Key, sisters, Norma Cockrum, Net Evans, Marie Sartain, brothers, Bert Evans, Roy Evans, Gene Evans, Sulcer Evans, Van Evans Jr., and Quincy Evans. She is now reunited with her husband Gerald Wayne Hubbard Sr., grandsons, Aramis James Pepper, Evan Halston Vides, mother and father; Van and Katie Evans, brothers, Yeve Evans and Wicky Evans, and sister, Lane Collier, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Floyd and Ruby Hubbard. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary (masks will be required) on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 10:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm conducted by Rev. Jim Gross. Burial will follow in LA National Cemetery. God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful; he always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering. He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He knew the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb. So he closed your eyelids and whispered, "Peace be thine". Pallbearers will be her sons. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons. In life, we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill. We Love You Momma, Maw Maw.

Ms. Irma is a loss to so many. When I think of her I hear her sweet voice. She was a dear friend and will be missed.
