Janette Margaret Butcher
Janette "Jan" Margaret (Hubbs) Butcher, 55, passed away on November 13, 2021 at OLOL Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA after fighting countless medical challenges for over 50 years. She was born in Baton Rouge, LA and resided in Prairieville with her dedicated husband and her fur babies, Remi and Daisy. Jan was a 1984 graduate of St. Amant High School where she played in the band for 4 years. She later enrolled in business school and pursued a career in cosmetic sales. Jan was caring, brave, and strong-willed. She made a lasting impression on everyone she met and will be missed by many. Jan is survived by her loving husband, Mark Butcher; stepdaughter, Katie Butcher; father, James B. Hubbs; sisters, Jamie Latuso (Robbie), Joni Lambert (Eric), Julie Tabiolo (Mike) and brother James Hubbs (Missy); mother-in-law, Shirley Butcher; sisters-in-law Linda Desormeaux, Julie Butcher; brother-in-law Greg Butcher (Angie); special aunt and devoted godmother, Georgia Ramirez; and numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother, Joan Ann Peltier Hubbs, and father-in-law, Donald Butcher. Jan's wish was to donate her body to Tulane Medical Center. A memorial service will be held to honor her life on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, LA. The Rosary will be said at 10:00 am by The Knights of Columbus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Jan's name.

I've known Jan since elementary/middle school and she was always so sweet and kind. My thoughts and prayers for her family and loved ones.
