John Carter Obituary

Pastor John B. Carter, Jr., entered into eternal rest at Baton Rouge Health Care on Saturday, January 1, 2022. He was a 79-year old native and resident of Zachary, Louisiana; and pastor and founder of First Unity Missionary Baptist Church. Viewing at Miller & Daughter Mortuary, Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 4-6pm; viewing resumes at New Pilgrim Baptist Church, Pastor Derrick Williams, on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 9:00 am until service at 11:00 am conducted by his brother, Pastor Melvin L. Carter; interment at Southern Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his daughters, Dovetta A. Carter, Zachary; Sonya A. Carter, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Lavontria D. Sykes and Ursula D. Carter, both of Missouri City, Texas; grandchildren, Chasity, Alenzia, Dinesha and DeQuarrius; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Williiams (Leroy), Zachary; Jesse Burton (Ollie), Elder Alfred and Pastor Carter (Patricia), Baton Rouge; brother-in-law, Clifford Marine, Zachary; other relatives and friends; preceded in death by his parents, Rev. John B. Sr. and Odessa Carter; son, Lutrell C. Carter; siblings, Thomas Carter, Hattie Marine and Doretha Butler.
