Somehow a quotation from one of Pete's favorite films seems very appropriate, "I commend to your keeping the soul of Capt. John Peter Labouisse, III a gallant officer and a Christian gentleman".
That surely describes my old friend but it barely scratches the surface of this good and honorable man.
To the whole clan I convey our sincere condolences. I have arranged for the Jesuit Community in London to offer their masses in his memory and we will join in their prayers.
AVE ATQUE VALE old friend.

Peter was one of the people of New Orleans who seemed to be everywhere and part of everything good about the city. He always carried a greeting to brighten the days of those he knew well and also those he knew in passing. Our city, Trinity Church, and the Energy Centre will be diminished without him.
