A dedicated husband, father and grandfather who always put his family first, he passed away Sunday, May 31, 2009, in Baton Rouge. He was 76, a native of Hamburg and a resident of Prairieville. Visitation at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, on Tuesday, June 2, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Michael Allelo, celebrant. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Baton Rouge. Survived by his sister, Valerie Harvey; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and John Jenkins, Wally and Marc Lowenthal, Lori "LeeLee" and Bart Wethey; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Justus "Buster" Danehower Jr., and Joel "Peter" and Christine Danehower; son-in-law, Alan Marrero; grandchildren, Chanse Ramirez, Amy Calfo, Jared Ramirez, Johnanna Bourgoyne, Luke Dornier, Justus Danehower III, Joseph Danehower, Jordan Danehower, Chris Marrero, Matt Marrero, Joella Willett, Mary Elizabeth Danehower, Emily Danehower, Jenny Wethey and Catherine Wethey; and great- grandchildren, Sophie Ramirez, Gracyn Calfo, Alexandra Landry and Alayna McCoy. Preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Marcotte Danehower; daughter, Mary Danehower Marrero; and parents, Liddon C. and Wallace "Virginia" King Danehower. Pallbearers will be his sons and sons-in-law. Arrangements by Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales.
