Laura Jane LeJeune Dufner, a native of Iota, LA and resident of Gonzales, LA, died on Jan. 1, 2022 at the age of 86. She was one of ten siblings and was born in the small Acadia parish town of Iota, LA where the Cajun French culture was the way of life. She loved a good joke, was easy to make laugh and loved being the center of attention at family gatherings. She enjoyed the good things in life (cooking, eating, drinking a cold beer or two and going places with family and friends. Her greatest passion, sense of pride and accomplishment were her grandkids and great-grandson for which her world revolved around. A conversation never ended without her asking "how are the kids doing". She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Jacob (EJ) Dufner; brothers, Elgie, Leroy, Paul Joseph (PJ), Nathan, Alouysious, Udel (Bozo); infant boy, LeJeune; sisters, Verley Frey, Mary Gail Linscomb; and parents, Willie and Marie Leger LeJeune. She is survived by one son, Cliff Rasberry (Julie); two grandchildren, Beau Rasberry and Randi Rasberry; one great-grandson, John Joseph (Jack) Gilbert; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Magnolia Assisted Living staff, Hospice nurse Brittney, Barbara Melancon and personal care assistant Anita May. They all took great care of mom. My sympathy and prayers to all of you in the loss of your loved one and my dear sweet friend. We go back a long time during my St Theresa days when she always came to see her grandchildren in their fair acts grandparent days and sports. They were her LIFE!!! She never missed anything for them!!! She was my neighbor in Park Vista and we had so good times together. When she moved I went visited her as often as I could and she was always glad to see me!!! I will miss her company and good times. May she REST IN PEACE.
