It is with great sadness that the family of Lorraine David Fourrier announces her passing on August 2, 2021. She was born on March 4, 1920 in Abbeville, Louisiana to Henry Jacob David and Corinne Lancon David. She was affectionately known as "LoLo" by family, relatives, and friends. Her mother died when she was a few months old and was subsequently raised by her aunt in Glencoe, Louisiana. She grew up between Glencoe and Abbeville with her 5 siblings and her father. Mom graduated from SLI (now UL Lafayette) with a degree in education. During World War II, she moved to Baton Rouge with her best friend, Marguerite Hebert Broussard, to work at Standard Oil. We enjoyed her many stories of life as a single girl in downtown Baton Rouge. During this time, she met Dr. Dan Fourrier and as they say, the rest is history. Together they raised an amazing family of six children and created a home that was always a welcoming hub of activity for friends and extended family. Mom was the ultimate cook and hostess par excellence! She loved to garden, and her yard was always filled with beautiful flowers and plants. She was generous with her flowers and often shared them with friends for their parties. Having outlived her siblings and friends, she moved to the Williamsburg Retirement Community where she lived for almost 7 years. She made some wonderful friends there and lived to be their oldest resident at age 101. They all knew LoLo. She is survived by her six children: Dr. Dan Fourrier, Jr., Dr. David "Jerry" Fourrier (Nancy), Ann Felice Fourrier, Dr. Jeanne Fourrier-Eggart (Dr. Jeff), Suzette Fourrier Howe (The Reverend Ralph), and Henri "Temo" Fourrier. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Michelle Fourrier, Dr. Torrey Fourrier, Dr. Daniel Eggart (Lacy), Elise Eggart Balliro (Greg), Dr. Laurence Eggart, Alyce Howe Dietz (Daniel), Laura Howe Ameen (Michael), Joseph Howe (Caroline), Jeanne Howe, Amy Fourrier, and Caroline Fourrier, in addition to six great-grandchildren with two more on the way. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Josie Fourrier Daniel. As the matriarch of the family, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was preceded in death by our father, Dr. Daniel J. Fourrier, Sr., her parents, her four sisters, Elodie Day (Tom), Renee May (Bob), Corinne Moreland (Dupuy), Lucille Hensley (Tom), and her brother, Henry David. The family would like to thank Mom's caregivers, who took such loving care of her, Dianne Page, Virginia Williams, Keisha Warren, and Bridget Poole. They continued to work during the challenging times of the COVID Pandemic. We would like to thank the Williamsburg family and Mom's special friends, Jean Cloy, Leeah Pittenger, Moe Hebert, and Mom's table buddy, Betty Hebert. We would especially like to thank Dr. Michael Rolfsen for his care of Mom through the years, Dr. Douglas Say and the staff at Hospice of Baton Rouge and the Butterfly Wing. The funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church on Saturday August 7, 2021 at 10:30 am. Visitation beginning at 9:30 am. Masks and social distancing are required. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge, St. Joseph's Academy, Catholic High School, or Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.

The Fourrier Family, I am saddened to learn of the passing of you mother LoLo. I know your grief must be overwhelming. LoLo was a gracious lady, devoted to family, friends and her faith. I see LoLo best qualities in all of her children. I cherish my memories of her. What a great gardner. Her violets around her fountain always made me smile.
I wish all of you peace. Your memories as well as mind, will keep her close and alive in our hearts.
With Love,
