Marion Claire Wicker, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and longtime resident of Zachary, Louisiana passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021. Marion Claire, 89 years old, was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on January 20, 1932. She was a graduate of the Baton Rouge High School class of 1951 and received a degree in Physical Education from Centenary College in 1955. At Centenary, she was President of the Physical Education Majors Club, President of Intramural Council, and a member of: Methodist Student Movement, Aufait, Yoncopin Staff, Committee of Fifty. She enjoyed spending her college summers as a Girl Scout counselor at Camp Marydale. Marion Claire married William Joseph "Billy" Wicker on March 24, 1956 and lived and worked on the family dairy farm in Zachary. Marion Claire taught Physical Education and coached numerous basketball, softball, volleyball, and dance teams in East Baton Rouge Parish, including at Shady Grove, Central High School, Silliman Institute, Central Private School, and Capitol Middle School. She served as President of the Lioness Club in Zachary. Marion Claire enjoyed all sports and was an avid LSU fan. She also enjoyed watercolor and oil painting. She loved her family and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son William Nolan "Bill" Wicker and her daughter Claire Marline Wicker, grandchildren Mallorie Wicker Reynolds, William Lance Wicker, Alexandra Rose Wicker, and Julia Adair Wicker, and great granddaughter Elizabeth Spillman "Libby" Reynolds. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nolan B. Greely and Rose Marie Greely. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Zachary United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the charity of your choice.

Claire, My sympathies for your Mother's passing. From her Obituary she was an amazing woman I am sure you will miss very much. I pray that you and all who loved her find peace holding on to each other during this difficult time. Kathy Barnett
