Mary Jon Turner passed away on December 28, 2021. She was born October 13, 1958, in Big Spring, Texas to Johnny Bob Turner and Marie Haley Turner. She moved to Baton Rouge in 1964 and attended local schools until she was accepted at Magnolia School in Jefferson, LA in November 1970. She graduated in 1978 and returned to Baton Rouge to live. She was active in the Special Olympics and won a "gold medal" in bowling. She also worked with the American Red Cross during Katrina. She was preceded in death by her father Johnny Bob Turner, a brother James Bradford (Brad) Turner, and a granddaughter Carlessa Elizabeth Desdunes. She is survived by her mother Marie Haley Ladner, a daughter Jessica Turner, two aunts Stella Cade and Jo Ann Doom, two granddaughters Kaylan Walker and Kayleigh Ann Walker. A grandson Makiah Morrow and many cousins and friends. Visitation for Mary Jon will be held at First Christian Church on January 8, 2022, at 10 am to 11 am, with a celebration of life beginning at 11 am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family.
