Michael John Rhodes of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on October 7, 2021 at the age of 68. He was born in Houma, Louisiana on September 19, 1953 where he went to elementary school before moving to Baton Rouge and graduating Istrouma High School in 1972. He worked for the Louisiana State Police as a Department of Public Safety Police Officer where he proudly retired with 21 years of service. Mike had many hobbies such as woodworking and making knives but mostly he loved helping others and spending time with his friends and family, particularly his grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl Sr. and Marion Rhodes, and survived by his wife, Patricia Rhodes, daughter, Karen Rhodes Novak, and grandson, William "Liam" Michael Novak. A private viewing was held on October 10, 2021 for the immediate family with no funeral services following, as per Mike's wishes. A private Celebration of Mike's Life will take place in the coming weeks.
