A retired railroad employee, he died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Terrebonne General Medical Center. He was 75, a native of Napoleonville and a resident of Labadieville. Visiting at Williams & Southall Funeral Home, Napoleonville, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Visiting at St. John Baptist Church, Napoleonville, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Thursday conducted by the Rev. Louis Clark. Burial in the church cemetery. Survived by his wife, Almatine Gaines; three daughters, Eldora, Mary and Gertrude Gaines; two sons, Clifton and Willie Gaines; three brothers, Charles, Roland and Larry Gaines; three sisters, Mildred and Joyce Gaines, and Rosa Bell North. Also survived by 18 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, daughter and three sons.
