Richard Russell LeJeune, 85, passed away on August 26, 2021 in Baton Rouge, LA. Richard was born in Iota, LA. He lived most of his life in Baton Rouge. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the army for 3 years and 5 years in the Army Reserve La Military District. Richard earned the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Meritorious Unit Citation during his service. After serving his country, he was hired as a boilermaker/welder and worked out of Boilermakers Local 582 in Baton Rouge where he retired at age 62. Richard is survived by his son Richard Edmond (Ricky) LeJeune (wife Lynn) of Lake Charles, LA, son Francis Karl LeJeune of Eunice, LA, daughter Theresa Marie LeJeune, stepdaughter Debra Hernandez (husband Lenny), stepdaughter Gail Pitre, daughter-in-law Kathy LeJeune of Baton Rouge, LA, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren and lifelong friend, Johnny Simoneaux of Denham Springs, LA. He was preceded in death by his son David Keith LeJeune, wife Octavia Ann Dubois LeJeune, and parents Hazel and Edmond LeJeune of Iota, LA. A military memorial service will be held on November 5, 2021 at Port Hudson, La in the Port Hudson National Cemetery.
