Rodney G. Bourgeois passed away peacefully at his daughter's home on Monday, October 4, 2021, at the age of 60. He showed significant strength and courage in his battle with cancer over the last 18 months while continuing to be unwavering in his love for his family and friends. He was a retired construction/project manager with Chevron Pipeline; resident and native of Plaquemine, LA. Visiting will be held at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine on Friday, October 8, 2021, from 11am to 1pm with Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine at 1:30pm, celebrated by Father Jason Palermo. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Rodney is survived by his daughter, Megan Bourgeois Doiron and husband Matt; brothers, Jay Bourgeois and wife Stacy, and Barry Bourgeois; former wife, Toni Bourgeois; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Carol Bourgeois; and brother, Middy Bourgeois. Pallbearers will be his brothers, Jay and Barry, son-in-law Matt, and friends Lance Foster, Randol Richard, and Frank Oliveri. Rodney was a dedicated father, brother, and friend who was known for his generous heart and easygoing spirit. He was a life-long NASCAR fan who enjoyed fishing, working in his shop, and riding scooters with his friends. Special thanks to his caregiver Katie Johnson for her loving care and devotion.
