I am so saddened to learn of this lovely lady's passing. The Jackson Family was my second family - and I think they loved me as much as I loved them. Shirley and Tom, I am so sorry for your loss. While I was so fortunate as to have your Mother as my teacher and your Dad as my first employer, you two had such exemplary parents who I was privileged not just to know but to share with you. Please know I will keep you in my prayers and I love you both. I share your belief that your parents are now in heaven watching over us all. Much love to you!

I had the privilege to be one of many student teachers Ms. Shirley had through the years. She taught me so much that one doesn't get from books. Because of her, I went on to teach 36 years in the parish. She will truly be missed!
