William Crawford Lipscomb, Jr. departed his earthly life peacefully on the evening of Sunday, November 14, 2021 at his home in Baton Rouge, LA. William was born August 17, 1950, the last child of William C., Sr. and Louisa Lipscomb. He was called "Dog" or "Lip" by family and friends. He attended East Baton Rouge Parish School System graduating from Scotlandville High School in 1969. William married Myrtis Davis on December 23, 1980, to that union two sons were born William C. Lipscomb, III and Winston Tyrone Lipscomb. He worked for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System until retirement and later worked for Turner Industries until his health declined. He is preceded in death by parents, wife, one brother Claude H. Lipscomb, one sister Delores L. Sheppard; five brothers-in-law Roy Lee Sheppard, Eddie, Wille, Otis and Roosvelt Davis. He leaves to cherish his memories two sons, William C. Lipscomb, III and Winston Tyrone Lipscomb, Baton Rouge, LA; one grand daughter Kaelyn C. Lipscomb, Baton Rouge, LA; two sisters-in-law, Druzella B. Lipscomb and Vertis D. (Matthew)Wilson, Baton Rouge, LA one nephew, SFC (Ret.) Claude H. Lipscomb, II(Alisa LaTonia), Phenix, AL; two nieces, Lourena E. Sheppard, Collinsville, OK, Katrice L. Lewis (Marcus), Baton Rouge, LA; one great-niece, Madisyn Lewis, Baton Rouge, LA; one great-nephew, Cartez S. Lipscomb (Columbus, GA) and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Services: Friday, November 19, 2021 10am Viewing until 11am. Service at Ebenezer Baptist Church 1915 Fairchild St, Baton Rouge, LA 70807. Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Garden Cemetery 6213 Groom Road, Baker, LA 70714.
